......i'm beginning to doubt the reliability of this device.
[because boy oh boy this is becoming highly embarrassing.]

...i'm in no way involved, and have no intention of getting involved. he was the one who mentioned naked people first; i was simply trying to help him handle the situation.
[not like it's working, obviously.]
FROM: akame@cdc.org
i hope that clarifies things for you. also, no romantic feelings are involved from my end.
[for the record, Peter. don't you know libel is illegal?]
there's only so many times it can possibly be coincidence
so...we would speak through the cans? i would think the miscommunications would be worse using such a method.
FROM:akame@cdc.org
apparently someone saw someone else naked, and he thought that they wanted to see him naked too, i think. it was very confusing. then he got upset with me. i'm not sure why. all i said was that it was a relief that no one wanted to see him naked.
FROM: akame@cdc.org
i'll try my best. i'm not sure who to believe anymore.
Actually it's a relatively workable short range sound transmission. Metal reverberates and the string carries those vibrations to the other end, and the person would press the can to their ear and hear the message
FROM: parker.peter@cdc.org
That said I was being totally facetious. I just want these dumb blackglasses to work again
FROM: parker.peter@cdc.org
why would he assume they wanted him naked too? I wouldn't worry about him being upset to be honest. He'll get over it.
FROM: parker.peter@cdc.org
well with the amount of misdirection and confusion today maybe it's best to hold off on taking anything seriously until the network works again
that...sounds very impressive. i'm afraid science and technology aren't my forte---they're not very advanced where i'm from. just utilizing this device never ceases to both amaze and discomfort me slightly.
FROM: akame@cdc.org
but i agree with you. it's definitely crucial, as well as useful.
when it's working properly.

maybe he actually likes the person, but is being roundabout toward them. either way, i feel like him just telling them would've been fine, instead of involving nudity.
i hope so. i really think he should resolve any unresolved issues with the person first, though.
FROM: akame@cdc.org
perhaps you're right.
since you brought it up, has anyone said strange things about you because of this mess?
That so? If you ever have any questions you can hit me up. I'm pretty decent with the technobabble stuff. Maybe not space age, but I'll help where I can.
FROM: parker.peter@cdc.org
Yeah if he winds up black and blue tomorrow we'll know the outcome of this whole shebang. Poor dude.
FROM: parker.peter@cdc.org
Not that I am currently aware of. Let me know if there is
yes...a lot of what i've seen, from these lights that run on lightning rather than lit by a flame, to doors that open by themselves, to devices like the blackglass...don't even exist where i'm from.
so i'd appreciate that very much. thank you.
FROM: akame@cdc.org
.....i hope it doesn't come to that. i really think he was just getting his hopes up. i don't feel like he should be faulted for that.
[but hell if she knows the do's and don'ts of flirting (or sexual harassment, in this case).
also, if jean gets jumped, it's kind of her fault for further spreading the misinformation, alas.]
FROM: akame@cdc.org
i'll do my best.
and if you need a hand if a fight breaks out, don't hesitate to contact me. you're helping me with figuring out new technology, after all.
[while they're on the subject of brawling. it's always good to be prepared.]
That's fine! I've met a lot of people that aren't used to this stuff. Don't be shy to ask.
FROM: parker.peter@cdc.org
neither do i. this isn't the first message I've gotten about Jean though so there's a chance someone's gonna misunderstand in a bad way. The rumour mill runneth strong with this one...

Are you into martial arts and things? because I always did want to learn. I get by on enhanced strength and stuff, no actual skill involved. Probably not the best to keep relying on luck.
what else have you heard about him? nothing worse than what i've told you, i hope?
FROM: akame@cdc.org
i was trained in hand-to-hand combat, yes. it's a necessity---sometimes, you can't leave traces when eliminating a target. anyone who stumbles upon the scene would be able to have authorities track you down if you use a weapon too much.
well, if you have free time, i could teach you a few basic techniques and maneuvers. combine those with your enhanced strength, and you can deal a lot more damage than i can.
SHE DOESN'T MEAN TO THO?!

Yeah I'm voting for a switch to tin cans on strings.

Why was he talking about naked people? Got this whole thing is like a tangled ball of the world's stupidest yarn.

Good to know. Should you hear any unsavory rumors about me, they are also false.
look man i plead the fifth
