I doubt anyone would be totally fine after something like that. Jean might be as spooked as anyone else around here, but he's tough too. He can focus on what needs to be done when it counts.
[What he doesn't say is that it's not the first corpse Jean has seen. Death isn't something that becomes any easier to stomach the more you see it, but they're soldiers, and it's a reality they must live with.]

I think I already maxed out my nagging quota for Jean a couple days ago. I found him after his black box training and nobody's happy after a round of that it seems.

It's true they must make enemies pretty easily. People want to make sure their homeland isn't next on the queue. But it seems unfair to target the low-ranking soldiers who have no choice but to carry

Yeah i haven't seen anyone come out of that with an ounce of sunshine left in them. I know it's set to target the weak points but from the sound of it it goes above and beyond the call of duty there.

We really are going to be the same as monsters to so many people, aren't we. We're destroying entire worlds for no reason except that we were told to, if we want to protect our own homes. There's no sense in any of it.

I can understand them wanting us to get stronger, but I don't think eliminating all weakness is the way to do that.

We're now in a position where we and anyone around us is going to be a target. And it blows because we don't even have a solid reason yet for why the CDC wants us to do this but we're not having much of a choice with that either.

Yeah. I'm kind of worried about what they're going to try to deem a "weakness." We're exempt for now but I'm a little worried about the guys that have to go through it.

Still, I think there can be strength even in weakness. It's human to be weak, we're not tools or machines. Before anything else, a soldier should be human.
