[That's not a very catchy title at all, it'll never sell. Also "what the effing," really.]
I didn't know you were here.
[He doesn't even know where here is, don't act like he's got some kind of crazy agenda. He shakes the blood off his hand and shoves himself up to standing, squaring up against Peter's aggressive posture reflexively. By the time he's on his feet and staring him down, the weight behind the continued "who are you" finally drops. His jaw locks, hands pulling into fists of their own. It's basically an accepted Fact that as soon as someone's been transferred off the crew, there are no guarantees they'll remember anything that came before it if you see them again. (Which is still a big fucking if.) It's the rule, rather than the exception, but it still tends to hit like a kick in the head when it happens. (It doesn't usually come with clenched fists and threatened posturing. It's even less fun when it does.)
His weird accent gets thicker when he gets pissed off, but after a week of relying on his fledgling English, it's a small favor he'd been sticking to it, for now. Because he's definitely not in a position to realize Peter's not wearing any CDC gear. No cuff, no translators. Now that he's recognized him and realized what's (he thinks is) going on, the extra effort gets tossed out the window in favor of figuring it out. (This is more CDC bullshit, Peter's got an earpiece under that goofy mask, right?)
Okay, this happens. It's annoying, it's infuriating, but it's not new. And yet, as if he has to be sure—]
You don't know?
[It's not like they'd been close. But they'd been comrades. (Friendly. Friends?) Unfortunately, switching back to Shingekese probably isn't going to help this conversation much.]
